In Tokyo, choose the neighbourhood you want to return to each evening. Ueno combines rail connections, a park and museums; Asakusa puts you around Senso-ji and the Sumida River. For four to six guests, compare sleeping places carefully: the total occupancy may include young children sharing beds.
What to check before choosing
For a longer visit, cooking, laundry and housekeeping matter. Check payment terms and what happens if you leave early. For laundry, check drying facilities, machine access and cycle charges.
Considering longer-term stays? Note the beds, bathroom and services that matter to your family. Any unknown details still need confirmation.
The neighbourhood also matters when comparing extended-stay accommodation. Use local sources to plan journeys and identify the station you will need.

Which neighbourhood suits you?
Ueno
Ueno Park brings together museums and a zoo. Check the route from the right station exit: a hotel near Ueno may be on the opposite side of the railway.
Asakusa
Senso-ji, Nakamise and the Sumida riverfront give you places to explore locally. Check which railway serves the Asakusa station you will use on arrival.
Planning your journeys
Ueno is served by Tokyo Metro’s Ginza and Hibiya lines; Keisei Ueno is a separate station. In Asakusa, distinguish the Ginza, Toei Asakusa and Tobu services. A walking estimate from a station exit does not establish a step-free route.
